 Holoplatys eats Jovial Jumping Spider

The little female above was probably blown out of her tree by heavy winds. She was wandering about at the base of the tree. Her fluffy white palyps were  being waved about in the same manner as those of an ant and was wandering quite slowly until she saw me moving. Then she raced into cover. The good eye sight in these spiders can be inconvenient.

Below is a male. He was forced from his hole in the wall of the garage by hot weather that saw the wall being cooked in full sunlight. At the same as he was driven out so was a Holoplatys which spent the time until the wall was shaded trying to get close to the O. jovialis. Both spiders share habitats and it appears the Jovial Jumping Spider is a regular at the Holoplatys dinner time.
